Mark SchumakerMark's Bio: After graduating with honors from the United States Marine Corps School of the Infantry, Mark Schumaker went on to serve for six years, of which he deployed multiple times to various theaters of operation to include Iraq and Haiti. While deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he held the position as Infantry Section Leader assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, Lima Company from March 2004 - October 2007. Responsible for thirteen marines, Mark led daily reconnaissance patrols specifically focusing on the gathering intelligence to improve the threat level and foster relations with the local population in Iraq.  As a Section Leader he was also responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support services as the principal support staff person to his operations and commanding officers. Mark was retired from the Marine Corps in April, 2009 after receiving a Purple Heart and is now currently enjoying time spent with his wife and two sons.
