My Eye Media has enlisted the services of Hire Heroes USA, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide career placement assistance to returning servicemen and servicewomen. Based in Alpharetta, Ga., HHUSA focuses on career placement of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom veterans, specializing in the placement of those injured or with any level of disability. The group serves veterans from all branches of the military. “The Corps instilled in me a code of conduct that I try to draw from as we run our day-to-day business,” Kadenacy said. “We’ve asked Hire Heroes USA to help identify technically savvy returning veterans who were wounded in combat.” HHUSA Executive Director Brian Stann believes it is essential for employers to get involved in helping the veteran community gain meaningful employment. “These are men and women who have not only risked their lives for their country, but have been imbued with honor, courage and commitment,” Stann said. “There is no job employers can offer that will levy the kind of responsibilities and pressures these veterans haven’t already experienced in combat.” The first QC Operator to be hired under the new program is Charles Horgan, a Purple Heart recipient and former Army Sergeant who was wounded in combat in Iraq. |
