Throughout our country’s history, Americans have felt profound appreciation and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of our troops and their families. The USO provides a tangible way for all of us to say thank you, as it has for 70 years. Hire Heroes USA is now a part of the USO Transition 360 Alliance, an initiative to help U.S. military personnel and their families successfully transition into civilian life after their service ends.

 

The Call of Duty Endowment is a non-profit benefit corporation which helps soldiers transition to civilian careers after their military service. The Call of Duty Endowment focuses its resources on assisting organizations that provide job placement and training to veterans, as well as engaging the media and public forum to raise awareness about the issue.

The Walmart Foundation meets the needs of the under-served by directing charitable giving toward our core areas of focus: Opportunity, Sustainability and Community. In 2014, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave $1.4 billion in cash and in-kind contributions around the world. Global in-kind donations accounted for $1 billion, while $309 million was given in cash globally.

The Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) is the first interdisciplinary national institute in higher education focused on the social, economic, education, and policy issues impacting veterans and their families post-service. Through our focus on veteran-facing programming, research and policy, employment and employer support, and community engagement, the institute provides in-depth analysis of the challenges facing the veteran community, captures best practices, and serves as a forum to facilitate new partnerships and strong relationships between the individuals and organizations committed to making a difference for veterans and military families.

The PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc., is a section 501(c)(3) organization that makes contributions to the people of PwC in times of financial hardship, and to nonprofit organizations that support and promote education and humanitarianism. In 2014, the Foundation pledged $5 million for a series of grants to support veterans and their families through 2019. The grants provide scholarships for education as well as support for transition to the workforce.
