Biography: At the age of nineteen Miss Whittlinger wanted to be a part of the Army for the adventure, challenge, and honor. She began her military career as a Heavy Vehicle Operator and auditioned for the prestigious Army Soldier Show and made it through the arduous acceptance process. She travelled all over Europe and the United States for eight months entertaining troops. That was a great experience for her both personally and professionally.
Kellie then attended Kansas State University to study in a highly regarded Music Performance Program and participated in many ensembles to include Opera Workshop, Orchestra, and Choir. Kellie also joined the New Mexico National Guard 44th Army Band as the Premier Vocalist. After a few years of enjoying the Army Band, she felt a calling to become an Army Officer. She was almost done with her degree during the time that a new State OCS program was about to start. She accepted the challenge and completed the course in order to earn her commission. She has accepted many challenging assignments and gone through the required Officer schools.
Kellie was deployed Kosovo and used her music education and performing experience entertaining troops while deployed. She also competed in the Operation Rising Star competition and made third place. Kellie is now almost done with the deployment and will return home soon, back to her children and family and into the civilian job market.
