Meet our keynote speaker, Kyle Carpenter:
Kyle’s heart would stop on the medical helicopter as his team tried to triage his devastating wounds. Kyle was declared PEA – Patient Expired Upon Arrival. Surgeons removed shrapnel from his brain, repaired veins and arteries and sutured torn flesh to ensure he was stable enough to survive the trip to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Five weeks later, Kyle opened his eyes to a hospital room decorated with Christmas stockings. Kyle had survived the unimaginable, but still faced years of recovery before reaching his “new 100%.”
Almost four years after his injury, Kyle was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama, making him the youngest living recipient to date. Kyle has made it his mission to never take a moment for granted and to life his life to the fullest. He now travels the world as a motivational speaker, sharing his story of courage, sacrifice and perseverance.
