Cristina faced a challenge many military spouses face when her husband received orders for a new duty station: finding a new job in a new city. Along with relocating to a place where she didn’t have network connections, Cristina felt her resume didn’t reflect the true potential she would bring to a job.
A friend told her about Hire Heroes USA and the free resume assistance our team provides. She later said, “My Transition Specialist was able to help me understand the strengths and weakness of my original resume. She was able to adjust it so it fit my needs and to the jobs I was seeking.” With a new resume, Cristina was confident a hiring manager could see the experience, skills, and knowledge she’d bring to a position. Two months later, she called her Transition Specialist with good news; she had accepted a Bilingual Customer Service Specialist position with a local formalwear business. When asked what she would tell other military spouses seeking assistance, Cristina said, “Hire Heroes USA is such an amazing program. Being a military spouse it’s hard to maintain that balance since we move around. Hire Heroes was able to work with me and make me feel prioritized.”
