David Sneed BIO PhotoAlpharetta, Ga., Sept. 15, 2015 – David Sneed, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Delta Private Jets, has joined the Board of Directors at Hire Heroes USA, a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit organization that empowers military members, veterans and spouses to succeed in the civilian workforce.

Brian Stann, CEO of Hire Heroes USA and decorated combat Marine says, “As a growing organization, our Board of Directors is imperative to accomplishing our strategic vision. We’re ecstatic to have David Sneed join the team. His experience and accomplishments are sure to bring value to Hire Heroes USA and the clients we serve.”

Sneed is a Captain on the Boeing 767 ER at Delta Air Lines. Prior to joining Delta Private Jets, he was the General Manager of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Delta Air Lines, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from Middle Tennessee State University, and he earned an MBA in International Business from the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech.

Delta Private Jets (DPJ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), which is the only U.S.-based carrier with both commercial and private jet service. Delta Private Jets provides aircraft charter sales, aircraft management services and its unique Delta Private Jets Card. The company operates the only FBO, the Delta Jet Center, at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, as well as a comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul facility (MRO).

“Delta Air Lines and Delta Private Jets have been ardent supporters of our active duty servicemen and women as well as our Veterans.  I am excited about the opportunity to join the board and help support our Veterans transition to civilian life after all the sacrifices they have made for our great nation,” said Sneed.

Hire Heroes USA is recognized as a best-in-class veteran service organization by the USO, Call of Duty Endowment and the George W. Bush Institute. The nonprofit organization has built a national reputation of excellence for empowering transitioning service members, veterans, and their spouses by building the confidence and skills necessary to secure civilian employment through free, individualized programs, which are delivered through online/telephone career coaching and transition workshops.  An uncompromising focus on results has led to an average confirmed hire rate of more than 60 clients every week in 2015, a conversion rate of 45% from “helped” to “hired.”

As the military adjusts to smaller overseas commitments and the reality of deep budget cuts, one million men and women are expected to transition from the military to the civilian workforce in the next four years. Without effective transition assistance, many former military members could join the ranks of more than half-a-million veterans who are already unemployed (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, July 2015).
