VETERANS DAY GIVING
Sadi’s Story
Every Gift Makes a Difference.
This Veterans Day, Tito’s Doubles the Impact.
“Getting practice on how to interview, what to wear, how to answer questions, was beyond valuable. One hour on the phone with my TS gave me more than three days in TRP ever did. I was supported every step of the way with Hire Heroes USA.”
Sadi’s journey began with a simple but determined goal: to wear the Marine Corps dress blues and know she had earned them. What started as determination grew into a 25-year career of honor and leadership, rising to the rank of E-8. Over the years, service brought her a sense of purpose and community, but it also came with challenges and demanded sacrifices that reached far beyond the physical elements of the job.
While still on active duty, Sadi endured the most devastating loss of her life—her daughter, Madalynn, died of shaken baby syndrome. The weight of her grief was overwhelming, but Sadi pressed forward in uniform, without the chance to fully heal. For years, her focus remained on duty, leaving little space to confront her pain.
When she retired, the sudden quiet after decades of structure and responsibility left her feeling directionless. At the same time, the grief she had carried for so long rose to the surface. Months of isolation and a lost sense of purpose left her unsure of what to do next.
Everything began to shift when she reached out to Hire Heroes USA. Her Transition Specialist, Vanessa, became both a guide and a source of support. Through one-on-one coaching, Sadi learned practical skills like resume building and interview preparation—tools no one had taught her before. But just as importantly, she found encouragement, accountability, and community. One hour of personalized attention gave her more confidence than days of military transition classes had. Slowly, Sadi saw a future she felt ready to step into.
What Sadi gained from utilizing Hire Heroes USA’s free career services went far beyond skills—it reconnected her to a sense of belonging. With renewed confidence and structure, she has stepped into a civilian role that allows her to continue serving in a different way. Her determination has not only propelled her forward but positioned her to lead, proving that her story of service is still being written.
