Our approach
Hire Heroes USA Career Advisor Vanessa Price walks you through what happens after you register for our free, personalized career services, from your first conversation with us to securing employment and beyond.
Every job search is different. Let’s get started.
Hire Heroes USA takes a personalized approach to every job search. Your Career Advisor will work with you to understand your background, help you present your skills clearly, and prepare you for the opportunities ahead. While we’re not a job placement agency, we provide expert guidance, practical tools, industry connections, and one-on-one support to help you confidently navigate your career journey. Here’s what you can expect as you get started.
Our step-by-step process

Register and tell us about yourself
Start by registering and sharing your background, experience, and career goals. This helps us understand where you are in your job search and match you with the Career Advisor who can best support you.
Connect with a Career Advisor
Once you’ve registered, your Career Advisor will help you identify your priorities, map out next steps, and create a job search plan. They will become a consistent point of contact throughout your journey.
Strengthen your job search materials
We’ll help you build the tools you need for a stronger job search. That includes rewriting your resume, framing your experience for civilian employers, and providing guidance on LinkedIn best practices to stand out. You’ll also have access to networking and mentoring resources, workshops, virtual events, and our job board.
Prepare for applications and interviews
As applications turn into interviews, we’ll help you prepare for each step with clarity and confidence. Through mock interviews and connections to industry professionals through our Volunteer Program, you can practice, ask questions, and show up more prepared.
Keep moving forward
Job searches can take time. As you apply, interview, and adjust your approach, your Career Advisor will stay in touch with guidance, encouragement, and practical next steps to help you keep making progress.
Stay connected as an alum
Getting hired is not the end of your connection to Hire Heroes USA. As part of a community of more than 65,000 alumni, you can return to our services at any point in your career—whether you’re ready for your next opportunity, exploring a new direction, or looking for ways to stay involved.
